Dream Bigger – Not every CPA job has to have a downside
We’re looking for an ambitious CPA or CPA student to join our team!
If your professional ambition is to become an anonymous drone toiling away in a cubicle, then stop reading this immediately. Seriously, we don’t even have cubicles.
At Presley and Partners you’ll work side-by-side with our entire team, from senior partners to student interns. Ours is a relaxed, non-hierarchical workplace culture that provides ample opportunity for one-on-one mentorship. It’s a place where your ideas and opinions truly get noticed — in fact we’ll ask for them on a weekly basis.
Because we’re a small, well-respected firm (though one of the largest on northern Vancouver Island), you’ll get lots of great experience working with a wide variety of clients and industries. So if you were hoping to get comfortable repeating the same task over and over, we have bad news: with us, you’re going to become proficient across all facets of accounting. No one-trick ponies here — we’re all frontrunners!
Feeling motivated? We’re looking for a hardworking, ambitious CPA or CPA student who aspires to someday become partner. For the right candidate, in fact, partnership within just 5-10 years isn’t out of the question — how many firms can say that?
Let us get one thing straight though — when we ask if you’re motivated, we’re not asking if you’re willing to work 60-80 hours a week and sacrifice everything else that gives your life meaning. Call us old-fashioned, but we value quality of life.
That’s why we:
- offer a flexible work schedule so you can hit those epic powder mornings or hang with your friends who work non-traditional hours
- follow a relaxed “dress for your day” policy — because who said jeans and sneakers are never appropriate for work?
- provide every employee with lifestyle funding for things like gym memberships, lift tickets and new bikes
- conduct a weekly happiness check-in — seriously, this stuff matters to us!
Don’t get us wrong — come tax time, you’re going to work your butt off — as a CPA, it comes with the turf. But for the rest of the year, we can be as flexible as you are. Unless you’re a former Olympic gymnast. Then you’ve got us beat.
We know you’re not one of those people who thinks that money is everything, but we nonetheless offer a very competitive salary, plus full medical and dental benefits and even access to a professional development fund. Simply bring a positive attitude, a solid skill set and the ambition to fast-track to partnership, and we’ll do everything in our power to help you get there.
As a final plus, you’ll get to live and work in the Comox Valley, one of Vancouver Island’s most vibrant and family-friendly communities. That means, among other things, that you’ll never again have to commute for hours through gridlock traffic. Heck, after a while you’re going to get annoyed just having to wait your turn at a four-way stop — trust us.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills and technological proficiency, as well as a few years of public practice experience. Although if you’re an inexperienced but ambitious CPA student who’s eager to learn and grow, we want to hear from you too! Either way, you need to be committed to continually improving your skill set and growing with our firm, while we do everything we can to help you succeed.
Above all, you should be committed to doing your best possible work as part of a close-knit, supportive team that’s as serious about producing great work as we are about enjoying the Island lifestyle.
